E-Learning Newsletter

Updated: Sep 20, 2022

Dear Parents,

We hope this meets you in the best of health. Welcome to the new term. We apologize for starting late. This was due to the uncertainty of the times we find ourselves in.

The COVID-19 situation has necessitated that we provide effective solutions to the loss of learning hours. We hereby offer the following plan:

Solution 1: Online lessons through SCHOOLGATE, with assignments and tasks from the GEs. This will take place from 4th May 2020 to 29th May 2020

Solution 2:

· Option 1: If the government allows schools to resume in June, we will commence 3rd Term classes immediately. This will be from the 1st June to 28th August 2020.

· Option 2: If the government extends the lock-down, we will continue with online lessons through SCHOOLGATE. This will not be sufficient to cover ALL learning outcomes for the 3rd term and hence ALL learners will need to take extra lessons during the first term of the 2020/2021 session commencing in September 2020. This will take place from 1st June to 28th August 2020.

SCHOOLGATE (https://schoolgate.ng) is an open-source e-learning platform based on the Nigerian primary school curricula. Registering on the platform will enable us (you and the school) carry out a seamless teaching-learning process that is sure to be of great impact to your ward. We have carefully selected topics that align with our curriculum. In addition to the online resource we will periodically post voice notes (from the GEs) as well as leverage on other platforms that will enhance the learning process for our learners. Our GEs will provide a guide on the required lessons with you.

The School has also made arrangements for homework and assessments to be: uploaded by Group Executives, downloaded by you for the learner's use and consequently sent back once completed, by uploading on the same platform. The Homework/Assessment is on the school’s website (https://www.teentycoons.net/assignment-portal) where you will be required to login. The username and password for this portal will be supplied by the school once payment is confirmed.

The process will involve taking clear photographs of answers provided by learners (in cases where they need to write, calculate, simulate or draw) and upload such as attachments. The GEs will do the needful and revert with a standard marking scheme. All this can be done through a phone, tablet, laptop or PC with internet connection. A guide will be provided.

You will be required to pay ₦9,800 per child per month. The account will be activated on a monthly basis after payment is made. Kindly note that it is mandatory that each child attends the online classes as it will form part of their portfolio as there will not be enough time to cover all learning objectives during the extra lessons in the next session.

However, Learners in Mufasa Group (Early years) will not use the online portal. Instead weekly lessons (Videos and worksheets) will be sent to their Parents' WhatsApp. The fee for the service is N7,000 per child per month.

We count on you to ensure the exercise is a success.

Thank you.

Faithfully,

M. Mosugu

Executive Team Lead
